Education (2014 cohort)
For my DPhil thesis, I am investigating predictors of teacher self-efficacy by taking into account personal, environmental, sociological and economic features of the school environment in various countries.
Therefore, I am making use of the teaching and learning international survey (TALIS)-data published by the OECD in 2013. The focus of my research lies in quantitative research methods and secondary data analysis. I am also interested in professional learning and development and interdisciplinary perspectives on educational research.
Prior to my doctorate at Oxford, I gained a B.A. in Education and Communication Sciences from the University of Munich and an MSc in Research Design and Methodology from the University of Oxford. Between my B.A. and MSc. degree, I was working as a research assistant investigating chances and limitations of networking among educational institutions for enhancing educational success in a deprived area in western Germany. I also worked in corporate communications and journalism.
