Linguistics (2014 cohort)
I am currently doing a DPhil at the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics. My research interests are in semantics, pragmatics and psycholinguistics, and my thesis research is on (Croatian) modality.
I am especially interested in the relationship between different modal elements, such as the relationship between conditional mood and modal verbs, and double modal constructions.
Apart from the semantic and pragmatic aspects of modal elements, I'm also interested in the way we process and acquire modal structures. Also, I'm involved in a side project on indexicals that explores how English children acquire indexical pronouns.
I hold a dual bachelor’s degree in Croatian and English language and literature and a dual master’s degree in Education in Croatian language and literature and in English language and literature from the University of Osijek, Croatia. I also hold a master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
