Presentation Delivery Skills

Presentation Delivery Skills

for Graduate Students in the three GUDTP Universities

This training will be particularly beneficial to GUDTP students scheduled to speak in the GUDTP Annual Conference on 24th June.

Most presentation skills courses focus on what a presenter should do. This workshop focuses on the far more challenging question of how. In this interactive three-hour session, participants explore what happens in the moment when knowledge, preparation and intention meet the reality of standing in front of an audience. Drawing on ideas from communication, performance and personal development, the workshop provides a practical framework for understanding why presenting can feel difficult and how to become more effective, authentic and engaging when it matters most.

Rather than offering a collection of tricks, formulas or rules about where to stand and what to do with your hands, the workshop helps participants discover and develop the resources they already possess. Through a mixture of stories, discussion, reflection, demonstration and practical exercises, attendees learn how to connect more effectively with an audience, manage the pressures that accompany public speaking and deliver presentations with greater clarity, confidence and impact - whether face to face or online.

By choosing to take part in this course, attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how they might:

  • Gain an appreciation of the challenges that they face
  • Better prepare themselves to deliver their message with impact
  • Address issues, such as nerves, voice, preparation and impact
  • Feel a greater sense of confidence as a presenter willing and able to flex the format of their delivery.

This training will be delivered by Piero Vitelli of Island 41 for the GUDTP.
