Project Title: Applying a capability approach framework to the relationship between gender-based violence, extreme weather events and housing insecurity
I am interested in the interactions between homelessness, gender-based violence and extreme weather events. These harms often have two sides, visible and hidden, which can lead to assumed narratives, focusing only on visible harms and expectations. By using capabilities approach to question the gaps that exist in individual lives, I hope to explore structural violence and how that is experienced in personal narratives of violence, housing and extreme weather.
I completed an undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University of Leeds. After a long break with work, travel and family, I returned to study the Open University MSc in Global Development.
