Project Title: Sensing the Neurodiver(City): A comparative study of urban rhythms and walkability in neurodiverse and neurotypical experiences
My DPhil investigates the embodied and sensory dimensions of urban life, focusing on how neurodiverse and neurotypical individuals experience walking and mobility in the city. Interdisciplinary in scope, my project engages with health, urban, and transport geographies to contribute to debates on social justice, walkability, and sustainable urban futures.
I have an MPhil in Anthropocene Studies from the University of Cambridge and a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Manchester, where I was awarded the Faculty of Humanities Dean’s Award for Achievement. My undergraduate dissertation ‘Creative Mapping the Neurodiver(City): a personal account of how autism is entangled with encounters of urban geography’ lay the foundations for my DPhil, which won an award from the Urban Geography Research Group (RGS).
