Within my PhD I am analysing and evaluating the impact of Camden Council's We Make Camden Strategy, with a focus on community organising and social action. In particular, I am exploring processes of social infrastructuring, through the lens of place making, community wealth building and relational learning. In order to do so, I am embedded within the Participation and Partnerships Team, where I am using a participatory action research methodology, alongside creative practice approaches to facilitation, in order to co-produce my research with Camden Council staff and Camden residents.
I previously studied BSc Social Anthropology as a mature student, at the London School of Economics. Since graduating I have worked in widening participation at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I manage adult education programmes in prison and community settings, including co-designing and delivering a learning recognition for social action course with Camden Council and the Public Collaboration Lab. Within this role I have completed in-work training, including the Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, and the Advanced HE Senior Fellowship Programme. This experience has led me to develop a practice based understanding and research expertise into inclusive approaches to pedagogy, community engagement and participatory action research. I intend to use my professional experience, alongside my lived experience of growing up in Camden, to inform my current research.
