Digital Social Sciences (2024 cohort)

Matthew’s research is focused on the future of work. In particular, how a skill or task-level view of the labour market can help better understand the impacts of technology. He leverages online labour market data and uses methods from complex systems science like networks and agent-based modelling to approach this topic.

Matthew has previously worked as a software engineer at a large financial company and as a Data Scientist at the Burning Glass Institute. He holds a bachelors in mathematics and philosophy from Calvin University and an MSc in Social Data Science from the Oxford Internet Institute.
