Summary
This session will support participants to better understand how to design and create academic posters. You will identify and apply design fundamentals to poster design, select appropriate content for an academic poster, develop confidence to organise visual and textual content in a copyright-informed way, and become acquainted with software available to complete your design.
Posters are used for a range of academic purposes: on a general level, to disseminate your work in a succinct and visual way; at conferences – to find like-minded researchers for potential collaboration; in your department – to explain and showcase projects to visitors and other contacts. Benefits include developing academic, research, digital and visual literacies, facilitating cooperations and supporting employability skills.
