Sociology (2015 cohort)

I am a DPhil candidate at the Department of Sociology and Nuffield College. My current research focuses on the effect of schooling reforms implemented in the mid-90s in Sub-Saharan Africa on the probability of dying before age five.

I am also interested in the use of multilevel modelling to study the effects that the environment – community of residence and climate change – plays in shaping children’s health outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa.

I hold a BSc and MSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University. During my Master’s degree, I also worked as a research assistant at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization on the Ghana and Kenya national systems of innovation. In 2014, I participated in the European Doctoral School of Demography held at the Warsaw School of Economics in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, sponsored and supervised by the Institut National d'Études Démographiques.
