Sociology (2016 cohort)

My current research aims to combine social science and molecular genetic research to examine social stratification. Particularly, my goal is to address the link between genes and occupational trajectories. I am wondering whether people’s genetic predispositions of certain psychological and physical abilities influence their decisions & experiences in the labour market. Currently my region of interest is the UK.

I have finished a master's degree in sociology at the University of Oxford with a focus on educational inequality. My region of focus was Russian Federation. My research addressed the problem of access to preschool education in all regions in the country, as well as barriers to obtaining high-quality education. I also earned an undergraduate degree at Moscow State University, where, as a student of the Sociology Department, I focused on socio-economic inequality and the effects of globalization on Russia. As a quantitative sociologist, I have done research both in academia and in the private-sector.
