Sociology (2019 cohort)

In my research I investigate how, in the context of party disunity, individuals form opinions on complex political issues. I focus on Britain, in the run-up to and aftermath of the 2016 Brexit referendum, a political context in which political elites and parties provided very mixed messages. I am particularly interested in the use of advanced quantitative methods to combine various data sources to better understand communication between political elites, the media, and voters.

Prior to embarking on the DPhil I completed the MSc in Sociology. Before that, I read Philosophy, Politics and Economics, also at the University of Oxford.
