International Relations (2019 cohort)

My research interests lie in conflict studies, humanitarian intervention, and international governance. My MPhil research focuses on the UN Security Council, using Natural Language Processing on meeting transcripts to quantify speaker sentiment and disagreement within meetings. I am interested in using this data to predict outcomes of interest to conflict studies, such as UNSC resolutions, interventions, and troop numbers, as well as conflict events and evolution of the peace process.

I am reading an MPhil in International Relations at University College under the supervision of Prof Andrea Ruggeri. I hold a BA Hons in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (First Class) from the University of Oxford, Oriel College. In 2018 I received the John Hicks Foundation Bursary for excellency in Economics during my undergraduate course, and am currently a University College Loughman Scholar.
